CRUMPLING CRASHES AT
FIGURE OF 8 CARNAGE
drive around the obstacles too quickly but 77 Russell Gill emerged
as the victor. An explosive destruction derby started out with a
massive head-on between Gibson and 62 Jason Shreeve before an
equally big crash between 393 Pete Annells and Wilkinson saw the
latter need some assistance to get safely from his bent car. Annells
continued to hammer 361 Chris Walden sparking another big crash
as Gill and Jamie Chilverhouse both piled in leaving 928 Richard
Steele to finish off Ellis and claim the spoils as the last driver
running.
The 1300 Stock Cars were rough and tough as usual with the red
tops at the back of the grids in particular standing out for giving
each other a harder time than usual. Whilst they knocked each
other all over the track, some of the lower graded drivers got the
chance to break away and 41 Jamie Wyatt took his first stock car
victory in the opening heat before 556 Zane Douglas scored his
first win for quite a while in the second race. It was back to
business as usual in the Final where Douglas was unable to hold
off the challenge of 673 John Moat who took his first shale win
in quite some time ahead of Douglas and 677 Steve Clayton.
