BIG ENTRY FROM BANGER

heat was held in much wetter conditions and the drivers started
to crash more with several drivers launching their competitors
into a pile up at one end of the track. 390 David Gibson started
the crashing by firing Mark Latham into the wall and the pile
quickly grew as 662 John Rose and 70 Anthony Long fired more
cars in. 42 Steve Prince survived the chaos to take the victory.

The survivors in the Final were mainly in search of points although
the event was livened up considerably by 400 Kevin Shinn who
delivered some big hits to Gareth Houlden before ending his race
by meeting 791 Nicky Young in a crunching head-on. Local livewire
385 Roy Gedge completed the action by burying himself in the
back of Shinn once he had crossed the line for second place.
349 Michael Allard had crossed the line first with Mayes completing
a fine night by taking third to add to his earlier success.
It was an emotional night for the 1300 Stock Cars with many
drivers directly affected by the news of the death of 1300 and
2 Litre Saloon Stock Car racer 219 Clive Grief which had come
the previous weekend. Clive was a multi-champion in the 1300
Stock Cars and will be sorely missed by all involved with the sport.
The first race for the stock cars was the whites and yellows final
for 2007 which pitted the relative novices of the sport against
each other for a match race. 33 Warren Porter had won the
qualifying process for the series and followed this up with a
convincing victory in the series Final, passing 211 Alan Coleman in
the early stages of the race and then pulling away to victory.

Coleman was the runner up and 7 Ady Moden completed the
winners’ podium. By the time the later races came along, the
wet conditions suited the Stock Cars the least of all and for
most drivers it was a question of man and machine against
the elements. Porter seemed to adapt his driving the best
of all and went on to take all three remaining race wins as
well, his placemen in the Final being newcomer 667 Richard
Newton and 800 Scott Greenslade.
GET WELL SOON BOB!

On behalf of all drivers, fans and officials at
Trackstar, we would like to wish 662 Bob Rose
all the best. Bob was accidentally hit whilst
exiting his car which has resulted in a broken leg.

Following an operation, Bob was discahrged from
King's Lynn hospital but it is going to be a long
painful recuperation process for Bob and we
would like to wish him the very best.
