639 Paul Vines gets all steamed up!

Adrian Senior had the biggest wreck of the day.
Unfortunately he suffered an arm injury and
we wish hime the best
start of the race, Grief made a good break from the inside line
whilst Aldridge and Aldous immediately tangled together from
the next two positions on the starting grid, halting their own
progress and also partially blocking the path of the pack of
cars behind. This gave Grief an early margin of safety at the
front of the race and he dealt extremely well with the
problems of backmarking traffic in the later stages of the race
to take a Championship victory which was extremely well-
received by the crowd. Behind him, 428 Lee Sampson had
successfully caught and passed 511 Craig Barnett who had got
through to second position at the start of the event and that
was the order in which they crossed the line although Sampson
was then eliminated from the result following a technical
irregularity being found with his car in post-race scrutineering.
This gave second place to Barnett and third to Aldous to
complete an entirely East Anglian podium for the event.
The weekend concluded with two further saloon races for all
willing participants with the victories in those going to Aldous
and Radcliffe.
The BriSCA F1 Stock Cars produced an entry of 40 drivers
where 214 Adam Slater and 212 Daniel Wainman produced a
stunning race for the first half of the distance although the
time they spent scrapping allowed World Champion 1 Stuart
Smith the chance to make good ground and pass them both
five laps from the end of the race to give himself a good
opening score for the night. 415 Russell Cooper was at the
front for most of the early laps of Heat Two although behind
him there was plenty of action going on with both 337 Dave
Willis and 335 Mark Woodhull using plenty of bumper to try
and batter a way through the field. Ultimately, their efforts
were highly entertaining but not completely successful and
441 John Lawn slipped past Cooper and then opened up a
reasonable gap on his way to the victory. The Consolation
race was a case of terrible luck for 246 Ian Brickley who only
just managed to get his car ready to make the starting grid
but then found himself upside down with lots of damage
within a few laps of the start. 352 Rory Foster had been
leading the way up to this point, but on the restart of the
